Quality Tom

Background

Quality Tom has been involved in the UK free party and festival scene since 1989 and began mixing tunes in early 2000. By the end of that summer, he had started playing at festivals and parties, and he hasn’t stopped since.

Inspired and supported by friends involved with underground sound systems like Limbic, DiY, Smokescreen, and Deep Cartel, Tom developed his style mixing jackin’ house with the deeper, rolling, more techy end of the spectrum creating a sound typified by producers like Inland Knights, Joey Youngman, Derrick Carter, and Tony Thomas.

Over the years Tom has played at most of the major UK festivals (Glastonbury, Boomtown, SGP, Bestival, Big Chill, Beautiful Days, Shambala, Glade etc), and at parties, clubs, and bars throughout the UK.

He has also travelled extensively, playing in countries as diverse as Egypt, Portugal, Peru, and Thailand, which he loves, and has returned repeatedly to; spending time on Koh Lanta and playing in a number of its bars. During the pandemic, Tom has played a number of live sets online, continued to release mixes, and even managed to put on a live gig in Bristol between lockdowns.

Expect a journey through a range of House Music including deep, soulful, tech, jackin, jazzy, and nu-disco; but always underground and always funky.
